Living in Toronto you don't always feel like you are surrounded by natural beauty. It's more like the feelings of living in a concrete jungle which it great but sometimes you feel the need to just reconnect with nature and go on a little trek! There are so many little adventures out there if you just take the time to get up and go! Evergreen Brickworks is an establishment that moves sustainable city building ideas into action. Established in 1991, Evergreen, a Canadian charity and international thought leader, has provoked bold action in transforming public landscapes into thriving community spaces with environmental, social and economic benefits. The grounds themselves are filled with rustic industrial buildings, beautiful trails, and fun for the whole family. There is parking onsite, however if you'd like to include your inner adventurer you can park in Cabbagetown which features semi-detached Victorian houses and is recognized as "the largest continuous area of preserved Victorian Housing in all of North America. It is truly beautiful and just a 45 minute walk to Evergreen! (trust me it doesn't feel as long as it is especially with the views!) Once you get there they have different events and activities catered to the seasons changing and the times of year! Stop by for a special Sunday brunch with the family or friends, get some tasty treats during the street foods market, take a nice bike ride through their many paths, or just go for a nice scenic walk and enjoy all things naturally pretty. So grab a sweet apple jasmine tea and a little veggie sandwich and get going!!
There is also a lot of great activities happening this March Break so go to www.evergreen.ca to check it out!
